As always, these posts do contain spoilers and if, like I was, you are somehow behind 5 years… go and watch them first before reading this.
After the death toll drastically increased in Season 6, Season 7 focused on their personal relationships.
There were good moments, but with good, comes bad.
Cristina and Owen getting married… she’s pregnant, Owen’s excited, she isn’t. Yikes.
Teddy and the lovable Henry get married… Yeah. You know. Season 8 ruined this.
Meredith and Derek are trying to get pregnant again… they are struggling and also Mer might develope Alzheimer’s.
Meredith adopts Zola… by herself.
Callie and Arizona get married and are co-parenting a baby with Mark… before that they broke up when Arizona ran off to Africa and also Callie was in a big car accident.
It should be noted that in the episode where we are exposed to the extent of Adele’s Alzheimer’s, the show opened and closed with a song by Adele, Rumour Has It and Someone Like You. I mean, if you are not impressed by that, then what makes you happy?
BUT WHO CARES ABOUT ANY OF THAT AFTER WHAT HAPPENED IN SEASON 8??
Blah, blah, some regular MerDer fights about Mer tampering with the Alzheimer’s trials, a bit of drama with April struggling as chief resident and losing her virginity to Jackson the night before the boards and then failing the boards.
Bigger drama with Cristina’s abortion and Owen cheating on her and Teddy leaving.
And then BIGGEST – WHAT – THE – BLOODY – HECK – DRAMA a plane crashed in the wilderness with Mark, Lexie, Derek, Meredith, Arizona, Cristina and somehow Grey’s Anatomy turns into flipping LOST.
THE CHARACTERS ARE LITERALLY FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES. MEREDITH IS RUNNING AROUND SHOUTING FOR DEREK AND LEXIE AND MARK IS LOOKING FOR LEXIE AND ARIZONA IS HOLDING HER LEG AND SCREAMING CONTINUOUSLY FREAKING EVERYONE THE F OUT.
They found Lexie… and then they lost her.
I mean WTF Shonda?!
Season 7, although overshadowed by 6 and 8, really brought the music.
Someone Like You – Adele
Chasing Cars (again) – Snow Patrol
How to Save a Life – The Fray
White Blank Page – Mumford and Sons
